Discussion
Quite a few threads of interest on there, not least the turbo applications.

you mean stuff like that Vortech supercharger complete kit for 5600$US or around 2900ukp or Edelbrock shorty stainless, ceramic coated headers for under 520US$ circa 280ukp, Pedders full spec street suspension upgrade for 1900$ US etc etc Supply and demand I'm afraid and at the moment the $ price makes it look very attractive to bring in your own kit if you've got someone local to install it.
The headers are a straight swap part and offer a reported 20bhp at the wheels improvement without changing the exhaust from stock, had a look at the instructions and tbh a trained monkey could fit them in the suggested 4hr fitting time. 80mm throttle body I had fitted for around 340ukp is available online for around 360US$ - less than an hour to fit with a screwdriver and couple of spanners but only suitable for non fly-by wire throttle systems.

A friend of mine has an oldish 5.0 Camaro (3rd gen) and got his headers etc from the US.. paid pitance.
Well I guess it's the way forward. More goats around therefore more applications. I'd be find doing headers - but turbo installations are beyond what I'd feel comfortable doing on the 'ro.

Be aware of the path of the steering column when ordering headers from the US.
with them being the shorty versions is that still an issue? could understand how the long tube versions might interfere - obviously still a valid point though and worth checking further before going ahead and ordering.

here's a shorty header that should bolt straight on in less than an hour and under 600$ Aus, shipping isnt going to be that extreme. Total cost is going to be somewhere around 250-300ukp I'd reckon. Don't know what kind of performance gain you'd get though. Almost tempted to order a set just to see. Wonder if I can organise that in time for Xmas......

Not sure about shorty headers, but long tubes are definitely out. I ended up getting LT headers from aus for my '04. US catbacks fit fine on '04 Monaros though (got an SLP).
how you finding the SLP exhaust? Heard a few negative comments about SLP in general but also heard some very positive reports. They seem to offer a good range of upgrade components.

If you like f'ing loud it's great. I've got headers and the SLP only has 2 small bullet silencers. Some drone @ 1800-2000rpm. I've had it on almost exactly a year now and have just had a rear silencer added. Must be getting old. Love the new 'civilised' exhaust note and no drone to drive through.

plus carriage, then Plus vat , Plus Duty & Handling fees.
somewhere approaching 4k would be a better estimate.
