it appears my seat has developed a creek/squeek from the backrest. It only happens when pressure is applied. It is quite annoying but music can cover it up. Is there a warranty claim on this or is it a grin and bear it problem?

if no claiim, any easy fix?

try driving like a 17 year old (no offence to the young), lean forward with forearm on the wheel with cap facing backwards and it should go.

tried that, then realised I'm 30 years old with the back of a 40 year old (no offence to the old posters on here)

Hi Mate,

Mine does the same also - it appears to be a known issue in the US with the lumbar support. Some have suggested turning it all the way in works fine and others have pulled the cover off the seats and given it a really good grease.

I am going to grease mine, the covers also creek on my car (drivers and passenger) - I think all the soundproofing makes it sound even worse. Suppose its like the passenger seat which the whole rear section rattles (you can feel the movement when you move it with your hand) - I think that is a dealer fix for me (I am too lazy to take the whole seat out at the moment).

Cheers
Steven

Yep....both my fronts do that. Drives you insane, almost as bad as the interior light vibrating.

Yep me too both seats and light fitting - Greens sprayed some oil or wd40 on the springs and stopped it for a while & fitted some paper in the light to stop the resonance - hey all hi tech stuff!!!

i just rev the car a bit harder best excuse for her in doors sweetheart that's why i need the new headers and full cat back full exhaust to deaden the sound of the seats !!!

that's really funny as my interior light had just (last week) started vibrating, currently getting used to driving with one hand holding the damn thing. I can see an interior light being run over soon.

My passenger seat rattles madly and moves quite a lot if you wiggle the seat by hand. It's completely driving me nuts but I've been told there's not a lot you can do about it. My question is this: If it's bad enough will it fail an MOT? If so, at 3 years old there'll be a lot of Monaro's just out of warranty which need expensive seat repairs!

I get the passenger seat rattle, fix=tilt the back part (the whole upright rest with the gismo button on the side - just clarifying what i meant - not patronising comment - have to be careful here boxedin) backwards to a steaper angle, cures mine after a passenger.

Mine doesn't rattle if someone's in the pax seat so maybe I'll try driving around with a large bag of spuds on it.

My front passenger seat rattles if the leaver that controls the back has not returned to the fully down position. The spring that returns the lever has gone weak. I just tell the sprogs to make sure the lever is in the down position whenever they get in/out of the back and that cures the problem.

Hi Chaps,

Re passenger seat, I will try mine tomorrow but increasing the tilt on the rear section.

I know my leaver is always fully down so it is not thank. As mentioned I suppose I really should await for decent weather and rip it out and fix is properly (i.e. pack it with foam and grease). I could always soundproof all the floor in that area - which would probably help.

Cheers
