Why does fresh rubber appear to make such a difference to the output figures as shown in the video ??

better grip so less slippage on the rollers, less need to pull the car as tight onto the rollers due to the lower slip - smaller losses from contact with rollers? Just a guess but from seeing a number of rolling sessions now how tight the car is pulled onto the rollers can make a big difference.

Its not something i've ever come across, but if the tyres were disintergrating as badly as i've been told, then they might have got some slippage.

No slippage apart from Ferrari press office being caught out by putting tyres on the car that had a compound not dissimilar to "Full Wets" this was done to obtain better lateral G numbers and better acceleration times when Evo were testing the car at Millbrook.
The car came & went in a covered transporter with an entourage of 7...

Nothing wrong at all just the tyres were too sticky
