FAO mackie1 - water ingress AGAIN!
Discussion
Would you believe it, another wet week and the left rear footwell becomes an indoor swimming pool again!
So much for the 'fix' it had. Have you had any further problems since you took your motor in to be fixed?
Guess it's going to have to go in again - maybe I might try somewhere else...

I've had my VXR for a week now and last time it rained there was some (not much) water in the rear off side footwell. Does anyone know what the so called vauxhall recommended fix is? I'd rather try fixing it myself than keep going back to the dealer despite the car being under warranty for three years.

The door seal and Door liner are the most common but there are many areas that water can ingress. I was sent the following from a guy in Australia
An unsealed section between two panels in the rear wheel house allows water and some dirt to enter the rocker panel. When the volume of water entering exceeds the capacity of the rocker panel drain holes, the rocker panel will fill with water and overflow into the foot well.
The rocker panel moulding could also be applying pressure to the rocker panel drain plugs preventing the rocker panel from draining.
If you want more info PM me and I'll send you the whole email including pictures
