"with aggressive looking 20-inch alloy wheels part of the $74,990 deal for the flagship GTS."

If it is the one we want then I take it we'll be getting it for no more than 30k UKP at the current exchange rate then

My understanding is Clubsport or GTS will be sold here very soon.
No SS or SSV. Not sure which model. It "might" be the GTS.

Undoubtedly.

Im thinking that lack of knowledge and expensive parts shipping has meant that margins on the CV8 etc have been demolished. Ive heard of all sorts of parts being replaced with almost zero logic.

A highly priced GTS will allow much more gross margin to take up the slack in the supply chain... Or maybe Im just cynical.

And if net margins to vauxhall on the CV8 have been demolished, where does that leave them after three years warantee support on the pre reg VXR's...

I guess unfortunatley we can never expect low volume specialist imports with full local national manufacturer support to be priced aggressively unless the equation was wrong in the first place and they fail to sell at the intended price.

The yanks look like they will be getting the Pontiac G8 version for less than 20,000 pounds with some of the HSV bits, and the Vauxhall version some more HSV bits, but might be up to 15 to 20 thousand pounds more???
I know the G8 will be based on the SS and the Vauxhall on one of the HSV's, but the HSV's are based on lesser Commodores anyway with much value adding for very little cost.
Its the old story that has raged here since HSV started....take an ordinary Commodore, add a tune, exhaust, CAI, brakes, leather trim, and different suspension setting and wheels, which (for them) probably cost $5k at the most, and charge an extra $20k more.
GTO in the US with LS2 = AU$45K, Monaro in Australia with LS1 = AU$60K, HSV GTO in Australia with LS2 = AU$70K.
Americans wouldnt stand for that, but down here in OZ, boy racers gladly hand over their hard earned.
Why? Because other decent European cars like the E63 AMG and M5 at about AU$230k are so grossly overpriced here and make the HSV's look like extremely good value.
An example of manufacturers charging what they can for cars, rather than what they're worth, look no further than pricing of the above two cars in the US and Australia.
E63 AMG and M5 in the US about US$85K while here they are both close to US$180K! Go figure.
