Well I've just put a deposit on a one owner VXR Monaro in black.
It's got 6000 miles on the clock and completely standard.
I hope to pick it up next Friday
then the fun begins...........
I'm just waiting to syphon off some of my money so the wife won't notice then it's off to monks for a s/c.

Was that from Bellengers by any chance, mine came from there. I was in just the other day, and they still seem to be selling quite a few including the new pre-reg ones, suprised there's any left.
On the plus side they tell me residuals are actually starting to creep up, which I suppose would happen as supply runs thin, so your timing is great, another few months and there gonna be hard to find and hopefully expensive!

Nice one, they said they had a few silver one's coming in including a few non-VXR models. The black ones are great, mines a silver 04VXR, didn't have much choice on the colour as I particularly needed the 04 model as I live out of a large samsonite suitecase in the boot half the month!
Silver is a bit more subtle I guess, and possibly easy to clean but I have to say the red one Bellengers had in their prep area looked fantastic.
Good luck with it.

Paul,
Turbo should be roughly the same price. Advantages include higher power potential (because the only limit is how fast the turbo blades can spin - i.e. very high as you will know from jet engines whereas a supercharger is a pump which has a limit on how much air it can flow), no parastitic losses (because superchargers use the engine to drive them).
Disadvantages of turbo are turbo lag (remember on the scooby you had to wait until 3000rpm for the power to come on? Although with a big thumping V8 this is less pronounced but the supercharger gives you instant tyre shredding power). Also you have to service turbos more and the turbo arguably looks less 'stock' like.
That is a pretty basic break-down but highlights the most notable points
