Went for a Crane Cam... very nice... engine is ALOT tighter than it was... it is beautiful... absolutely amazing how much difference it made to be honest. Still bedding it in, and taking it easy, but it is pretty sweet.. Rodger did a sweet job...

Most excellent Sir, another Naturally Aspirated convert.

What crane cam did you get in the end? Mine is the 220/224 one. I think its an HR14400067 or something.
I take it you are on stock heads still? Or did you change them too?

Come on spill the beans!

Went the 1449561.. which doesn't mean alot.
Nah, haven't changed the headers or anything, not at this stage anyhow. Still considering a supercharger, but think might hold out till i get a LS2, or get a clubsport. The Monaro is soon to be the Mrs's car, cause she loves it. I have my sights on getting a GTS VE... just not sure whether or not to get the Vauxhall or just get one imported. At the moment errring towards getting one imported.

Nice www.cranecams.com/?show=browseParts&action=partSpec&partNumber=1449561&lvl=2&prt=5
Should be very well mannered.

Yes, I just costed up an Ignition metalic SS from holdens site, came in at £19,000 for the Manual.
All very tempting. I must go and beat myself with birch.

any idea of the power gain from that cam upgrade? looks very civilised figures for an everyday driver. ringram's been trying to push me toward a 224/228 iirc which a lot of the yanks seem to agree is a good starting point if going the N/A route.

Raggy's 216 is more likely to pass emissions. Mine failed with no cats. But wasnt far off, no real surpise there I guess. The 224/228 is good for daily driver, powerwise, but if you want to make sure you pass emissions easy it might be a tad too large...

Did you get a Dyno Raggy?

Only dyno was the Mrs, going.. umm, that is a bit quicker than it use to be. Probably not a big difference, but feels alot punchier, and seems to get up into the rev's a little quicker if that makes any sense. Could be too, that have been out of it for a little while and had to drive the commodore..

Raggy, forgive me for posting on your behalf. Gains are not directly comparable as the engine in raggys car is a callaway unit, so features revised cam, heads and tune as stock.
