London Congestion Charge LPG need help from Dealers please
Discussion
Dear All
If a car is converted to LPG and appears on the 'power shift register' (you will need to dig round the Transport for London site to find this information) your car is exempt from London Congestion Zone Charges. This might not sound much but if you travel in every day, it can easily mount up to over a grand a year.
The power shift register (sounds a grand title, but it’s the list of cars which can be converted and recognised under the scheme) has the details of lots and lots of cars including every model of Vauxhall I could think of, but guess what - no Monaro's.
I emailed the register and asked if Monaro's can be added and the answer is pasted below.
Thank you for your email.
If your vehicle is not listed on the register then unfortunately you would not be eligible for the congestion charge discount. It is also not possible for an individual to get a vehicle added to the register as the manufacturer of the vehicle must apply for it to be added.
Please could one of the Vauxhall dealers ask Vauxhall Head Office to register Monaro's on the 'power shift register' - then we can all save money - Now (only London) but also as congestion zones spring up across the country this will have a wider benefit to us all.
Hope this makes sense; email me if you need more detail.
