Shouldn't have to fly BA as the BA planes only go to Sydney and every man and his dog plus his goldfish goes there!

You might have a bit of competition then for the bbq sauce. The Mrs goes through it like it is going out of fashion. Brought back 4 litres of it last trip, we are now on our last bottle. Last trip back home, there was 34kg of food in the hold, and then another 30 as carry on. Tinned beetroot was the other thing we needed.. an essential ingredient in any aussie back yard bbq. Who would have thought you could get beetroot so wrong. Bet the russians have a million ways you could have beetroot.

my old man flew over for summer last year and had one suitcase full of food, i.e. 15 bottles of bbq sauce, lots of cherry ripes for my wife and all the cadbarys chocalate you cant get here, came to $250 in excess loggage but well worth it and i paid him back by taking him to one of the VXR trackdays : )

over 3 years since we last been home, best i pull the finger out and get my a*s back for a stock up on supplies lol

BA = Barstard Airways... well to us anyhow... 4 trips away recently... bags lost everytime without fail, stuck on apron waiting to get in, cause some tool isn't around to work the aero bridge, or waiting for buses to turn up. 4 weeks is the record so far for getting bags back.. Have sworn never flying BA or Qantas again after this trip coming up.

What about Emirates via Dubai? Don't know 'cos never been East from here (Middle East) only to Dubai, but it takes the Aussies I work with 2 days to get home from here & 3 days back!

Going to give emirates a go next time.
Main consideration is that I am in qantas club and frequent fliers, so get to bring back 35kg at no extra charge. Which does come in handy.. Otherwise you are limited to 20kg...

Boyce: Sorry dude... didn't mean to offend... just don't like the service of BA. Flown one good airline here called Eastern Airways.... they are pretty awesome, but they only fly anything bigger than a bath tub. But service has been brilliant..
