New Purchase and 1st 'spotted'!

serial forum 'lurker' here, just picked up 06 QUICKsilver 6.0 VXR yesterday and spotted my first other Holden/Monaro on the road - red HSV (grey intake in front bumper?) somewhere in the oxford/Milton Keynes/Bedford area - sorry dont know where i was at the time.

Loving the car, just saving up for WORTEC exhaust now.....

yeah, i nearly flashed my wipers too! first monaro/HSV i have seen on the road in the 3 months ive been looking for one!

In less than three months of ownership i have seen only 1. And none in the 18 months I have been in the UK before that. Exclusive club or what!

It's amazing how few there are around here outside of dealers that is. In the 9 months I've had mine I've still not had a spotted other than prearranged meets, events and a visit to Greens and thats doing around 400 miles a week.

I believe there are three in Calne where I live, mine a red vxr, a black cv8 with grill vents and a silver cv8, then theres another in Devizes just a few miles away..

My first spotted was 10 months ago and awesome. I met V8 HSV at the M6 Tollbooth and we had some sport doing a 2 -3 mile drag race.

His car was slightly faster, nothing to do with the ££££££££'s he's spent on mods......I think he must have just filled up with some BP track day fuel.

There is an orange hsv in devizes at the moment too. I doing some work there

I remember that encounter very well, after years of modifying this was the only time I have ever played with another HSV at speed, suddenly all that time, money & effort was worth it, the car only really comes alive at three figures as I carry about 250 kg over standard weight with marine deep cycle batteries, ICE install & the blower. BTW, always run on Shell's finest...

well its not norfolk for sure, had 2 kids get their camera-phones out to take pictures this morning on the way to work!

If the kids are anything like the ones round my area..... They were probably just taking photos during the reconnaissance phase of their robbery operation!
