Got the car back today with a note saying take it easy, you will need a new clutch (with the power you now have) and also 4 new tyres.

Car seems to have come back with a bit of a whine too and what I can only describe as a bit of a hair trigger on the accelerator.

The consequence is a rather fast car (still taking it easy).

Thanks Picador and Wortec - car feels sublime (and I take it the suspension was done too as it's a lot quieter). Intercooler installation looks very neat too

Slightly out of focus - done quickly, how the SC looks.

View from underneath the number plate looking through to the radiator , intercooler fits between the bumper and radiator.

Looks like an OEM installation.

Are the installers going to sort out a cover for the heads? I noticed Bo55 asking this a few days ago. If not there are some cracking carbon fibre rocker covers available from the suppliers on the ls1gto.com forum yes

Covers are the work of satan.

They hold in heat, heat is bad. Remember bonnet up/down...

Also is it not questionable when all OEMs fit covers but to do this is the act of Satan!!

I guess they do it because lots of tubes and wires looks untidy and scary to most.

This whole "covers" thing bothers me. How is it if they are so bad, that BMW and the like can take so much power out of a few litres and cover them with loads of plastic and badges? Are they getting more air circulating underneath?

I am a bit new at this but the amount of heat is huge. Covers would just hold it in (I would guess).

I can see why now you have to dyno with the bonnet up, 23 degrees was showing on the air con when I left the car park on the way home - took a while to get it down to outside temps. Hot air does seem to get 'trapped' under the bonnet until you are on the move (40+).

I seem to have a slightly sticky throttle but apart from that everything else seems fine. Quite fun overtaking 'quickly' in fourth or fifth

Tiler you are so right - need to get used to driving on another level - speed wise.

A question of asthetics me thinks.

Open bonnet, "look the engine bay looks as nice as the interior Maam".

Rather than "look out you dont cut yourself on the throttle linkage, or break that injector connector mate!"

And I'd also say its to try and Scare people away from working at their cars. If they cant actually get at anything, surely they cant do any harm to the car....

As for the dyno thing....I still disagree the bonnet should be up. Airflow through and around the engine compartment will be designed to work properly with the bonnet closed.

On the road, yes.
