I`m new to the forum(and the Monaro)having spent most of my petrolhead years locked in a garage building Hot Rods.
Just out of interest, has anyone put their `ro` down the strip and if so what time did you post.(And what mods)
My other car was first built in 1948 and ran 13.3

bigwheel did a 14.5 at crail last autumn in his 06 plate cv8 which has the wortec exhaust and tune, terminal velocity was around 103 iirc
v6 jdt put his down the strip at santa pod and was going great up to 60mph when his clutch gave up on him and the fluid boiled.
I'm sure there are others on here who've had more luck....

Modded 04 CV8 (to approx 430hp) ran 13.7 @ 109 into an insanely strong headwind (I could literally barely stand up!). That was with a 2.33 60' IIRC.

It's just a question of traction, these things are so hard to launch!! I haven't seen any 60's below 2.30 which is in all honestly, horrendously slow when you see scoobs doing like 1.5's! Need some sticky tyres

I did a 1.8x in my camaro with 275 tyres. Its definately a fine run thing. You need to tread the balance between too much spin and not enough rpm. ET's sucked though, it was still spinning through 3rd gear before I got traction in 4th.
Ive not run the holden yet.. Definately keen to do so soon.

Nice one cheers, Gonna take the car on the dyno this week hopefully, think I'm gonna use Van Aarken at the TRL in Crowthorne, they've got a good rep.

Anyone wanting to do future RWYB's I'll go again, it was great fun. The Tivi incidently had to have major work done after including a new clutch!....Fast but Fragile.

Has anyone run with the aftermarket traction control discussed elsewhere in the forum.
(the one with the launch control)
