Probably really dosey posting this on here if its something I should be bidding on, but its not a system I'm familiar with.

Monaro Exhaust - SLP Loudmouth Version 1 - Stainless

Anyone know if this will fit a 04VXR, and will it be anygood ?

Should do they are a standard aftermarket exhaust for the GTO in the USA - they are I believe very loud...just as well with a name like that.

As always best to check year/model numbers etc. Try LS1GTO good source of info and many sound clips as well..

From what I have heard they do suffer from serious drone though at cruising speed.

I have a full wortec system (04)with a single tip exit...brilliant IMHO.

Cheers,

Unless it stays cheap it may be a bit risky, think I'll wait and get a Vortec system.

only thing to watch for is if it has the twin exits like a 05 or newer Monaro - due to the position of the fuel tank on the 04 models I dont think its possible to fit a dual exit exhaust as the hot pipe will lie against the fuel tank.

I'm pretty sure from the pic's and from looking at the SLP website that its for the 04 model, it says it came off a 04 CV8 anyway.

Just concerned if the noise will be a bit silly, but as I say if it goes cheap it might be worth a punt.

just searched and found it - would fit an 04 no problem, Its going to sound like its name okay and should be an improvement on the standard in terms of performance. Certainly worth bidding on if you want a cheap solution - going for little over 600US$ new, excluding carriage and import duty - see link below so you can use that to decide how high you'd be willing to bid.

This will not foul the fuel tank on '04 cars. I have the LoudMouth II fitted to my '04 CV8 with headers and it droned like f**k. I have since had a custom rear silencer box fitted and it is now perfect. Nice and audible, but NO DRONE. The LMI has resonators without any packing so will be even louder than the LMII.

Looks like a cheap way to get a stainless exhaust. Will probably only be liveable if you subsequently add extra silencing.

Yeah it does what it says on the tin - very very loud! If you do lots of motorway driving I would advise against!

if noise is an issue for you and you can wait and save the miltek/capa headers is a good upgrade with improved sounds whilst keeping fairly close to stock levels in the cabin
