Roger and the crew at Monkfish have just done a superb job of upgrading my 04VXR with the performance pack and WOW!... what a noise...! My wife knows when I am home as she can hear me coming up the road...

I wasn't expecting it to be quite as noisy as it is, but it does sound great. It is also quite different from the LS2, sounding more Ferrari'esk higher up the rev band. I am now seriously considering the headers as from 1,800 to 2,100 it resonates quite a lot in the cabin and I can see that becoming quite a drag.

The mid range torque improvement is also pretty deceptive. I thought driving it home there wasn't much difference, but now accelerating out of a junction 'normally' you are soon up to a 'indicated' 80! When you give it the beans it doesn't feel as hesitant as it did with the engine revving much more easily.

It is brilliant, I recommend anyone who hasn't done so books in now! I have booked myself on a few tunnels to enjoy the experience... cant wait.

So, has anyone been given a ASBO for being too noisy? Or does taking the neighbours for joy rides with solve the problem?

Smiler.

I do wince a bit when firing her up early on a cold morning. Flames out of the back are worse though (IMO)

One of the guys on the Fezza/Lambo forum has been forced to remove his Tubi exhaust due to a noise nuisance order.

The silentmonkey should be a screaminggibbon by now too, as Monkfish have performed some fettling of the ASBO variety yesterday/today.

Oh Yes Oh Yes Oh Yes. The ASBO button rules. Must have used half a tank driving around MK tonight. Nice deep burble and lots of popping on over run. You can also feel those extra GG's under the bonnet.

The not so silentmonkey driving

It's bit of a problem here as I sometimes leave for work/courses around 4am and two neighbours are passing comments. Not that I care seeing as I work my backside off to afford some luxuries. The current one is a Wortec one (one of the first for the 05 CV8) but 'er indoors have given me the go ahead to spend a bit (plus she loves the car to bits). Switchable exhaust and headers are what I really want (ASBO might also be a new goal to acheive as well)

How easy/long does it take to 'switch' the exhaust note on the manual system? Having headers fitted at the same time prevents me from being able to afford having the posh switch inside..

I believe the manual system is a get under the car with a spanner and slide across the plate job.
