THE MONARO'S HERE!!!!!
Discussion
Shouted my missus at midday today.
As it sailed straight passed the house and on down the road. He'd completely driven passed missing the house he was delivering the car to. So outside I went to wait for him coming back up the road.
And I waited...and waited...
After what seemed like an eternity (3 minutes) he finally came back and spotted my frantic waiving/foaming from the mouth.
Finally!!!!! Woohoo. "Just sign here please Mr Gibson." I could have signed the house away for all I know as even though my face was looking at him my eyes were still on my monaro.
Only just back in the house after driving my daughter to her friends house(revving the engine as I pulled up
) then getting back in the car (still
) and turning the ignition on and nothing! uncool!
:embarrassment: then I remembered something in a post on here
something about pressing the clutch in and turning the ignition..
thanks to you all for your replies to my previous posts and to HSV.org.uk for a great place not only for research but just to chat.
Anywho after all that we had to go and visit friends and family(Would be rude not to). Can't believe the street cred. Lots of people waving , nodding, smiling(Maybe smirking but who cares), People asking to listen to the engine whilst waiting at traffic lights, even a couple of bikers on a R1 and R6 waving me on to press the peddle and burn past em even tho they could leave me for dead anytime they wanted. I'm going to leave it there as I'm getting giddy and just want to get back in and drive!drive!drive! but alas have had some wine so....MUST...RESIST....
Thanks again guys for talking me into getting the best car I've ever had.
Giddy Mode off.

Whist filling up with fuel the other day some bikers came over & said the 'Monaro' is the car most bikers would love !
Enjoy the ride axeman
Just got my "precious" diskloked and wheel clamped. But could do with a new wheel clamp as the one I have is old and a struggle to put on/take off. Anyone know of a good suitable clamp?. Also what fuel do I use? Always used shell VPower in my scoob and intend to use same unless anyone's got any better ideas. BTW Just got VXR standard at the mo
so you're not sleeping the car tonight - I had to be surgically removed from mine when I collected it as I was having too much fun to want to go inside
Congratulations on finally getting the car, hope you have many years of happy motoring with it.
Maybe a little ott but if you speak to ringram I'm sure he'll be able to point you to a very neat security option. He is a reseller for the EFIlive management kit and its possible with that to upload a custom engine management file with 2 settings - normal everyday mode and valet mode - the valet mode can be set to limit the engine revs so low the car is undriveable and can be activated with a hidden switch. A number of guys that use the software have set a valet mode so that they can limit the revs and so the speed that say a garage mechanic can drive the car when its in for a service. No reason why it couldnt be used as a security tool as well - think of it as an electronic wheel clamp

Sounds like a bloody good idea... Roger, is that something you could do for me?

As a (newish) Monaro owner AND a biker (Fireblade) I can confirm the Ro is right up there. It's the smiles per miles factor that does it!
I will need to check if valet mode works on the LS2 engines. It definately works on the LS1 Monaro's. Basically you just earth a pin from the ECM. You can locate the switch where you want. Once flipped there is no way to change it unless you flip it back or reflash the ECM.
You can set RPM or MPH to as low as you like in effect making it a kill switch. Or set it for 30mph and 3000rpm. A good level for servicing tyres etc. Setting up the ECM is a 5 min job, plus the time required to run the wire to an earth with a switch.
Im sure Roger could do the wiring if he was up for it. I know he uses HPT, another tune tool which Im am unsure if it has the same security feature, though if anyone was keen on it Im sure we can sort something out.
I did mine myself and documented it here http://r8transformation.blogspot.com/
