The check engine displayed on the dash just after setting off(Gently I might add). Has anyone experienced this. It only lasted a second and then went away never to return. Also can anyone tell me what the normal operating oil pressure is when warm?

Mine has done that a couple of times, so I stopped and lifted the bonnet and yes it definetly was still there !!!! only joking.
It has happened to me though, VXR has done 2.5K, checked all the levels and checked for leaks etc, only did this after starting up again after a very short while stopped when at running temp. !!!!!! Got me a bit worried at first.

Having only picked my Black VXR up two weeks ago i had the same message a couple of times. Having done some research it would appear that is something to do with sensors and the fuel line/tank. The problem is caused be condensation when the car hasn't been run for a while, a couple of full tanks of petrol later and i haven't seen it since.. there is a previous thread some pages back...just dont ask me to try and put a link here.

I'm pretty sure nearly everyone has seen that message. I've seen it once - perhaps twice in the last year. I did the same - opened the bonnet and checked (it was there!). Went away after that

Never had the message before the car was supercharged(but had only done 1000 miles in her) now I see that message on a daily basis and have to cancel using the set button to change the display mode. Geoff at Greens says its a software problem. All other engine perameters are normal.

If you are really keen you can get the code scanned so you know what it was.
As mentioned its normally the O2 sensor(s).
Give the car a good thrashing once warmed up to burn off any carbon deposits and moisture etc sometimes helps.
If it does keep reoccuring you might need to replace one or more of them.

Thanks guys. Thats a huge relief. I thought as much but when you've just bought a car and don't know the ins/outs you fear the worst.

A common software glitch, nothing to worrt about, its one of the many sensors picking up something by mistake.

I have had my Monaro over a week now and that glitch doesn't occur as much but the other day I started it up and got Service Due for a few seconds before the check engine message came on and then back to normal. it only has 700 miles on the clock so is that another glitch?
to top it off I appear to have developed a puncture on the left rear as is usual here in Ireland. any special precautions I should take when going to my local tyre fitter?

Just about to fill up for the first time and was thinking of putting VPower in. Anyone got any complaints with VPower in a standard VXR. Oh and what is the normal operating oil pressure. Mine tends to be around just below mid level, 3 I think does this sound about right or is it running abit light on oil?

Vauxhall!! Never seen a Vauxhall like that!!

He was in a powder blue 5 series estate.( not playin by the rules ). I was doing 85mph (so`s he could catch up) then just as I was about to give it the beans his front grill started flashing with pretty blue lights. Oops. 85mph, it could have been worse, alot worse.

I came back to my car once and a nice man had left a complimentary note on the windscreen - it said "Parking, fine"

Which was nice.
