Looking on ebay at a few intake systems and thanks to the dollar/pound exchange rate now seems a good time to do so.

Looking at this item http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/K-N-57-3044-AIR

Anyone any feedback on them? Not too fussed about a few hp gained/lost but had one years back on the supra and the noise was great.

Any others to look at buying from the US instead of one of these? I presume it will mate up with the MAF ok??

Good idea (if you don't get too stung on shipping and taxes). I'd be more interested in a CAI jobbie (the front end version).

May be worth a group buy...

avoid the K&N unit you've got there. read various reports claiming problems with it taking in hot air from the engine bay. far better with a otrcai system. taking advantage of the US $ at the moment is a good idea. If interested in staying NA especially its a good time to buy parts like cams, heads, springs, valves etc. Hell for that matter pick up a twin turbo or supercharger kit for about 2-3k then you've just got to pay for the fitting and setting up on a rolling road.

I definatley need an induction system, the K&N looks good, but I've heard the problems, do you know who supplies the otrcai system, is it thr Wortec supplied one ?

PowerTorque, Capa and G&D also make them in Oz. Exchange rate there isnt quite so good.
Or just buy a magnacharger GTO kit and be done with it. Unless you course you like NA, which gets my vote.
The yanks dont really do OTRCAI's for some reason.

Definately a good time to buy a heads and cam kit though. AFR, ETP or TFS etc. Plus a nice Comp Cam.

as for a nice cam - I've heard some good things about the comp cam XR275HR when fitted with some decent springs and retainers. Won't affect fuel economy or idle too much either but will give some decent rwhp gains over stock.
