What is it with the northern dealers? Makes me wonder how many more cars they would sell if they had good customer service.

One day, was just in to get the airconditioning gas rejuiced at a near VX dealership here, staff were mouthing off about other customers right in front of waiting customers. Definitely wouldn't be buying a car off them.

Trying to order a new fan belt for Jagsy's car, and well, what a nightmare so far. Had to ring another dealership up here to order the part, and well, never had a good experience with them either. Besides having to tell them no, it isn't a Menarvo. Even when you start the conversation with a Monaro 5.7 litre. Ugh..

Question for Stu.... do VX ever do secret shoppers of their dealerships?

Motorbodies are currently trying to find the part numbers for a steering rack and a rear fog light let alone the actual part!

Their body shop also wrote "Calibra" on a quote they did for me which doesn't exactly fill you with confidence!

Caspy: I don't suppose you have such information to hand so I can help them out?

(PS. I'd love to come to you but I can't justify a 160 mile round trip when I have a supposed flagship dealer 5 miles up the road)

Sorted, cheers.

Would anyone like to guess how much a complete fog light unit for a Monaro is?

I would venture somewhere around the 175pound mark.
lights and ancillaries are never cheap.

What's wrong with your fog lights? Mine have all corroded on the chrome inside. Is it a warranty thing?

It's the rear fog light. I backed into a bank slow enough to not cause bumper damage but fast enough to cause the back of the light to come into contact with the rear bulkhead and smash the bulb holder. My own stupid fault. I have all the peices so I should be able to repare it with judicious use of glue and tape.

Thanks for the info Nige. I've finally got the go ahead to come down and get my door handles sorted so I'll mention the fogs too

Well I'm happy bunny. They got the rack in pretty quickly (went in tuesday for diagnosis, rack fitted today). I'll evaluate over the weekend whether the problem has been solved but I have to say the steering feels a lot better, much more weight around the straight ahead. Could just be slight stiffness because it's new or my old one could have been royally buggered and I never realised!

If you take the code number off the belts, try any motor shop - they are common belts and Bosch part numbers match.

It could have well been!

Out of interest does the VXR have a quicker rack than the standard car?

Does anyone know what the lens part of the rear fog light consists of. Is it the lens and reflector in one peice that then clips to the bulb holder? I think I only need to replace that bit, not the blub holder/loom. It's all a bit mangled so if someone could have a look at theirs and tell me then that'd be great.

It looks like the unit screws into the back of the recess with 3 screws and mine has broken away entirely from the tabs that get screwed down.
