how much for a pre reg realisticaly
Discussion
Been wanting a monaro for a while now and my local dealer in macclesfield has just got a red pre reg in with 11 miles on the clock, so i went to look at it today, the first thing i noticed is that they didnt seem that interested in selling it to me even though im a cash buyer, they didnt realy know anything about the car and i found myself telling them about it (felt more like i was trying to sell it to them) the other problem is that they wanted 29K for it and was unwilling to drop it a single penny even though if the deal was right i would of bought it there and then, i told them i was ready to pay 26K cash there and then which i thought was the going rate for pre-reg ones and there was no interest what so ever, i was wondering if anyone could give me a rough idea what kind of prices pre-reg cars should be going for at the moment because i think 29k is far to much, and also if anyone else was finding they get rather sub standered customer service with vauxhall dealers, any feedback is much appreciated
There's a black pre-reg 6.0 VXR at my local dealer up for £29k and a red 05 CV8 for £24k. I think the recent blow-out saw VXRs going for £27k and the remaining few are priced at a little more. If you consider that full list was £36k then I think 29 aint so bad. It is odd that they didn't seem interested in talking about a deal though :/

£26K dead is bang on the money. Speak to Greens of Rainham or Picador, both enthusiastic with good reputations, I'm sure they'll sort you and more importantly look after you after the purchase.
alas neither has any left
I just paid £25.3k for a pre reg'd 56 plate (2007 but 3.8k miles).
Check vauxhall web site and go to advanced search (monaro doesnt show up on standard search) one dealer had a red one at 27k and a silver at 28k

I paid £26K each for two this year.
you were lucky all right, I got my prereg a month or so ago at 27K flat. I had just missed out on one from vauxhall HQ which had one thousand miles and went for 24.5K. that would have been a nice little bonus. I can understand though some dealers might not be willing to drop too much off the price if they can make a small profit for themselves.
thanks for the input guys i thought that since i was willing to give them 26K cash there and then they would of snatched it out of my hands but they didnt batter an eyelid and said 29K was all they wanted and they werent going to drop a penny and for that kind of moneys id rather wait a few weeks and get the VXR8 for just a few grand more, i dont know what other dealers are like but im not shy on traveling a few miles to get one at a fair price

How much would you pay for one of mine? (2K miles)

The Pre-Reg's that I saw, and the one I bought, was £26,995.
Most of the pre-reg were going for £26995. I got mine from Quickars with 1900 miles up (ex Vauxhall) and I paid less than that. Quickars did have one or two left, and Andrew there said to me that he though that the remaining few would creep up in price simply because there aren't any more left.
As for a black one - sorry to say but I think you're out of luck. I searched high and low for a pre-reg black one over a month ago and there just weren't any anywhere, which is why I went for the 1900 miler - just for colour! Could have had a silver one from Greens but stuck out for black. I honestly don't think you'll find a black pre-reg now, so if you want black, take the best you can find, otherwise it'll be red or silver.
Quickars have got 5 on their stocklist at present of varying age/mileage - www.quickars.co.uk
