I picked up my car from Mark at Rapid GB yesterday. He hes installed a Magnacharger supercharger and it has made me a very happy man indeed. The car has been transformed. The polished case provides a nice bit of bling for the eyes. My wife who was following me home yesterday tells me it sounds awesome from the outside, it certainly howls like a banshee inside. I`m a very happy boy.

I do suggest you find who stole your plastic inlet manifold. Its removal is going to have a drastic effect on performance !!!!

Be interesting to see the results of this against the Harrop stuff. I assume this is the intercooled version ?

Is it the new High Helix rotors or the normal MP112 kit ?

Looks a very tight squeeze under the strut brace !

I wish I understood all the techie stuff! All I do is pay for stuff and then point at it a bit and look as if I know all about it. Mark, at Rapid GB did say something about it being maffless. All I know is that when I press the loud pedal it go`s like the wind.

Mark was having some difficulty getting accurate dyno figures, as the fans would not work at the place he uses to dyno. Sparkies are working on it as we speak. His guestimation was 500`ish hp, to go up to 520/530hp when the smaller pully go`s on. All I can say about it is that Mark was smiling, saying it was the best one he had done in a while. (he would say that tho`) If he`s smiling then so will I. The dynomometer in my backside says WOOHOO!driving

Oh and another thing, the installation is a bit tight, Mark took out the fibre bonnet lining so that the supercharger would not chafe and spread fibre all over the engine compartment!

Yeah the sound deadening stuff has to go.
You can download the magnacharger install docs from their website to see what needs to happen. Nice job to include the intercooler. Plus it looks like it fits nicely.

You might want to cable tie back that small [vac hose looking] pipe at 2'oclock position near the rear pulley.

What was the damage for the install?

What else has been done, can see some headers?

Thamk you eliot, I took a closer look at the washer hoses, and although they are close to the rear pulley, they are already well cable tied and are not going to move anywhere. There isnt a whole lot of room left in there!

Nice install.

Now if only someone could come up with some decent coil covers for it!!!!!!!!!

The original plastic engine cover obviously dosn`t fit any more so Mark has some GTO covers on order, they are split into two halves either side of the supercharger to pretty things up a bit. (I think!)

The finished effect can be seen on the Magnacharger website.

Glad to see that you are happy with your investment Colin.

Specs are:-

Magnacharger Intercooled System running @ 7 psi.

Spec 2+ Clutch

The charger is the uprated unit with a maffless 2 bar tune and has been re-mapped to the modifications/specifications of this specific car and to retain original drive comfort.

System running 500+ plus at present but with 9psi pully we will see 550-580bhp as we have fitted the same to C5 Corvette and LS2 SSR Truck.

The install will be made neater when the engine covers come in.

We will post 7psi and 9psi dyno figures when complete.

Cheers

Rapid GB

Sounds interesting, will they work on a Harrop install?
