Hi all, been looking at the forum for some time but not yet posted.
Had a bit of a strange malfunction with the car yesterday, the speedo was registering 200mph whilst i was sat in a traffic jam and was just erratic until i restarted the engine later that day. The problem only effected the analogue dial and the digital read out seemed fine. Doing a search i see a few people have had this problem but quite a while ago, does anyone know if this gets worse or what the correct remedy is? I'm getting a bit nervous as the warranty runs out in a few days!!

Cheers

Get it sorted under warranty pronto! It's a known issue and they usually replace the cluster - at least that's what my dealer did.

I have booked it in with Vauxhall in Milton Keynes, however the only date they had available was after the warrenty has run out i.e the end of next week. they have said they will look at it under warrenty i just hope they identify the problem and do the work. i dont suppose anyone knows if a warrenty runs from the date the car was registered or when it was handed over to the customer, just in case things get messy.......

Finally got the car looked at, told the garage that it was a known fault, unfortunatley they couldnt replicate the fault, or find any record of any previously reported issue! They have sent an email to some technical place in Germany or something and i await the response. As a few of you have experienced this and had it replaced, did you have similar problems getting this sorted?

i had min replaced but they did say they wouldnt entertain it until they seen the fault for themselves. as it had only happened 3 times in 5 months i told them they aint keeping my car that long will a video clip and photos do as proof. so out came the moby and woohoo new clocks and i was outside my warranty

A bit of an update - Vauxhall in MK phoned me up two weeks ago as they had a response from GM Europe or something. Since then have had the car in and replaced the instrument panel all under warranty - bonus!

And so they should. Know fault and a lot of us have had it and replaced under warrenty.

I've been having a similar problem recently as well, the dials go a bit wacky every so often. It also seems to be effecting the radio controls on the steering wheel.
