Anyone encountered this problem? - Handbrake will hold with the car facing down hill but not at all with it facing up hill - was a new one on me and far too wet yesterday to go for a grovel underneath to look (assuming for one moment I would fit underneath!!!!). Have booked the car in for someone to take a look but wondered if anyone had any thoughts or had encountered this as a problem?

On a seperate note have read back through all the posts on exhausts and notice several refernces to droning without headers - is this true of the 04 CV8 or is it just the VXR set up and can anyone confirm whether this is case for the wortec exhaust on its "quiet" setting? (on the off chance that anyone is running an 04 CV8 in "quiet" mode!!).

maybe you got it wrong. No droning from a CV8 with wortec catback.
Have driven cars with no back boxes and then I think there is a drone.
Horses for courses I guess.
Headers make more noise than without headers

Thanks Yorkkie - good to know - did wonder if it was just taking the back boxes off that caused the drone.

Handbrake issues anyone?

you can get droning if the rear section gets close to the rear cross member as can happen under expansion. Headers do seem to greatly reduce in cabin noises too I find

Had exactly the same problem with the handbrake on mine. According to my local VXR "specialist" rolling backwards when parked facing up a hill with the handbrake on is quite normal, a characteristic of the Monaro apparently *snigger*. When I took it to Gr33n5, K3v1n advised all that was actually required was a simple adjustment!!! (names changed to protect identity)

Thanks you confirmed my thoughts - pleased I am not that unique!- Just seems strange that it works one way and not the other
