Had my VXR 2 weeks & loving it. Can't get enough of that motor evil

Never can resist a few choice mod's though, so given that I use it everyday & no doubt a couple of trackdays a year, what's REALLY worth doing?

Seems the monkfish road response pack is a goodun, what's the score with remaps (don't want to cock up cold start/town driving etc. but more beans welcome), AP's worth it given 99% road use?, ripshifter? any other suspension stuff worthwhile? Got the VXR cans already.

Grateful for any advice!

I think you need to have an idea on what you want from the car to be honest, maybe that will come after you've driven it a bit more. For example, do you want to increase power? If so, by how much? That will determine whether you need to upgrade the drive train for example. An edit is a great way to improve stock power, if done correctly it won't impact fuel consumption, but should drastically improve driveability with more torque across the range. Bare in mind that any performance mods subsequent to the tune will throw it out to a degree, you need to map out your mod path and do the tune at the end of it all, ideally.

Personally I think you shouldn't change anything just yet, its a brand new car after all. A rip shift makes the gear changes much faster and more direct by removing the factory linkages from the equation. I love the sounds of V8s so a full exhaust is the next mod for me, plus a full stereo install because the stock system is rubbish. Air intake and exhaust are generally seen as good stage 1 mods, getting the engine to breathe more readily.

Just remember once you start with the mods, its very, very hard to stop

Yeah try to come to a few meets and go for a drive with someone. Ask about the various mods and you will find a setup you like. Work towards that. Invariably more is almost always better smile
Everyone seems to like the 500bhp mark. A few go further, but serious mods are then usually required to the drivetrain.
500bhp seems a nice goal without rebuilding the whole car.
To get there you will need either a stout heads/cam setup or a supercharged install.

My views,

1) brakes
2) rip shifter
3) suspension
4) engine mods

This is the correct order.
1 Ripshifter
2 Supercharger.
3 Blower
4 Belt driven forced induction.
5 Twin Helicoil induction.
6 Mortgage
7 21 gear mountain bike (for the duration of the ban)

But whatever you do, welcome and enjoy:

Really depends what you want from the car and what you use it for. Most mods can be sampled on our demonstrator first.

Remaps don't "cock up" anything!

number 4 that would be, but brakes (if they are anything like a cv8) should be changed by vauxhall free as they are, how can I put it, SHIT. I had the car (a year ago) for 2 days (3 round-a-bouts) and nearly killed myself. My Zafira would stop quicker and not have the fade the monaro had, same size brakes too, which is not quite right, Monaro 333hp Zafira 120hp (if that). ummmm.

Must say I like the sound of that. I plan to stay n/a on this car & just want to sharpen it up here and there. No doubt I'll be making my way to Monkfish in the next few months but keep 'em coming please ....

Me,

1. Wortec Exhaust and Headers (and remap) may as well sound like a V8.
2. Ripshifter
3. AVO Suspension.
4. Roger's road response kit, not had it done yet but sounds great.
5. Ap Racing Brakes.
6. Race Logic Traction control (cannot believe no one has mentioned this yet).
7. Supercharger & Inter Cooler.
8. Harrop Diff Cover.
