5.7 v8 (auto) when she gets a blip of throttle she doesn't settle at idle revs straight away she hunts for about 2 secs then settles but sometimes it can cut out, a real bummer if im reversing out of a spot in a hurry , give it a blip, hit the brake and it cuts out... i had the mechanic clean the throttle boddies and it kind of sorted it out but not perfect. Has anyone suffered from this if so whats the cure ???:rolleyes

I'm new,
Hi everyone (whe reads this thread anyway)

Quick question, has it had an aftermarket tune? If so, when and how long has it been happening?

Have come accross this before when aftermarket re-maps start to fail (Especially Autos).
Just a guess though, could be one of a multitude of things.

Cheers.

Yeah flaky tune can cause that. Does it throw any warning lights?

Just saw your profile and that its got a tune in it plus other "mods". Id say the tune needs checking. Do you have anyone local?

Hunting at/near idle is quite often timing issues. Getting the IAC airflow right also helps. If you are inclined you can get your own tune tool for a few hundred quid and sort it yourself.

I am suffering a similar problem on the GTS, where she just doesn't go back down to idle straight away. Thinking it is the spring on the throttle not settling back properly for some reason. Quick tap, sometimes fixes the problem.

Idle pboblems should be fixed via the ecu but the 'old' fix is to drill a 6mm hole in the butterfly valve inside the throttle inlet

Could be ECM cracker and cracker delay values too, is it different coming to a stop as opposed to when standing still?
