Nige,
Have you been down to see the Monkfish car or another one ?? Bit of a silly question but, what is your overall conclusion bearing in mind costs etc ?
I am guessing this was on an 04 CV8 rather than the 05.
Hope it was really, really nice.
Cheers

Hey Steven
I was at Monkfish yesterday having PBR discs & Performance pads fitted along with the Road Response pac (both very worth the money btw at £1066 all in for all items fitted
) As Roger came back from road testing my own car I mentioned that it was the first time that I'd heard my own car driving off and it was dead nice.
Roger then said I should have a drive of his test mule (04 CV8) as it has every mod fitted to it nc headers, supercharger, rippy, AP's, suspension upgrades (can't remember the name but it wasn't Avo) and some extra guages etc.
"Ok" then I said, pratically salivating...I actually wanted to try a Ripshifter but, well, rude not to eh?
The air con in the car isn't working so we had to have the windows open.
Off we went.
Loverly, loverly sound.
Out through a few narrow lanes nearby, bit of a push on the pedal and ...ooh, the s/c seems willing!
Go around a roundabout and Roger looks over at the temp guage then says, "Go back the other way, it's quiet and give it as many beans as you want"
So I did.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Fcuk me with a fiddling stick!

It just has power absolutely everywhere, no glitches, no hesitancy, no problems at all.
Had to do a bit of a hurried stop and those AP's pull your bloody lips off they are soooo strong!
As many will know I've never been that bothered about them before but having experienced the immense power under without having to stamp on the pedal I am converted - I have no shame in admitting that.
As it goes I actually missed a shift with the Rippy! (luckily I didn't over rev it) and whilst it is very positive I'm not entirely sure about it yet.
I think it's down to my lazy technique caused by the stock shift mechanism so am prepared to give it another go.
Roger, I may have to "try" the ermmm... Rippy again mate...
(arf) All in all an extremely good experience with the Monkfish guys.
Even my wife liked them (she paid the bill whilst I was out having fun
) she loved their enthusiasm for their products and the fact that they put their money where their mouth is via the test car. I totally agree.
Not yet been able to press the Road Response pac hard 'cos I'm still bedding the PBR's in but so far the car deffo feels taughter, steers quicker, corners flatter (by some margin) and actually feels lighter because of all of ths.
Very recommended.
Wow, sounds like you fell BIG style in love with the car, for that reason alone I have not been back to Roger since my Road Response (before it was officially called that) and my coilovers. I am sure I would either come away broken hearted or penny less - LOL.
Are the PBR brakes any different than the stock ones ?? I am guessing they are the larger ones which come on my 05 as standard, or are they drill/slotted ?? Re the pads, they are a must have and will be getting them when mine need them.
You have a very understandable wife, I mean even paying for the stuff !! Does she have a sister !! LOL.
Cheers

The SC certainly changes the car completely. The trouble is like any upgrades you get used to them after a while.
It should be mandatory to drive a standard Monaro at least once a year to remind yourself how much better you have made it with all the mods. I know when I drove a standard Monaro while mine was having some work done I almost hated it!

The PBR's are what a VXR has as std - slotted, except they don't have HSV stamped on the rear and are £700 cheaper for a pair.
Even the bells are the same.

Mackie is hoping that the courtesy car he gets on Friday will be said CV8

Might be the 2.8 Audi quattro.

We got the Audi on friday, took it to Cranfield Airfield for brekky. Got to say first drive in one and was quite impressed, didn`t realise it was a 2.8 untill I looked at the back though.
Nige, was at the do in Southampton today in aid of Cystic Fibrosis, loads of really hot cars there, we took our two so Mrscj drove the `ro`.
The format was that people paid for a raffle ticket and got a spin round the block in their chosen metal thrown in and some of the queues were quite long.
My `ro` is a bit of a sleeper, std exhausts so no noise, but she was still busy riding people about who had heard about the car from Top Gear, but no queues.
When she pit stopped after a few hours I popped the bonnet, flies to s***, word spread it was supercharged, like it was something really special, when I fired it up and gave it some a lot of people went and got tickets.
In a world of turbo cars, a supercharger is a rare beast.
I don`t regret for one second fitting it.
Nor will you.
(Except when the bank ststement lands on the doormat)

Well last time I had a Kia Picanto auto so anything with more than 50bhp would be nice!
