Anyone have a 'classic' V8 Holden or Ford about for sale? Ive been looking for months for something 2 door like a Falcon or Monaro etc....surely there must be something this side of the pond? Brother is buying a US muscle car and may need suitable weapon to keep up...

Ive seen a few things around, they usually get killed in the weather by rust here.
Some HQ's and the odd XB/XA etc falcon/fairmont. Best to get yourself into an 00+ Holden LSx V8 mate.

Have a chat with the guy's that run this site www.holdenuk.co.uk/. There are a few good old Holdens about, saw a HQ ute up on ebay a few months back that looked cool.

Appreciate the input guys...have just emailed the Holden Uk guy. As a long term expat am having hankerings for one of these old buses...TBH I really need something old and iconic-the more modern stuff just doesnt get me going.

The odd one does pop up in the classified section of Classic American Magazine from time to time - seem to recall one a couple of months back.

Some of these old cars are bringing crazy money down here now.
Makes you wish you had stocked up on a few old Falcon GT's and Monaro's years ago when they werent worth much.
This one just sold for $750,000!

And another two have sold recently for over half a mil.

Maybe this bloke may like to sell you one of his 80 classics, but youd have to have very deep pockets.

I always fancied a Phase III GTHO a few years back when you could get them for arounf 30grand. No matter how rich I was I wouldn't pay today's stupid prices for one though.
From redbook:

Red Book Code FORD71AU
1971 FORD FALCON

XY GTHO Phase III Sedan 4dr Man 4sp 351
Prices based on km 540,000 - 900,000
Trade in price guide* $294,400 - $356,100
National average price - private sale* $335,800 - $425,000
Price when new (RRP) $5,302

From memory they have less than 400BHP, clunky 4 speed and crap brakes. You don't pay for the driving experience, just the rarity.
