Monaro MY04 manufacture dates
Discussion
I am looking for a Monaro at the moment and have seen some MY04 cars registered in '06.
Does anyone know the final manufacture date of the MY04 cars ?
Also was the relocation of the fuel tank to behind the rear seats done as part of the model year change or was that change done on another date?
Thanks in advance.

V2 series III Monaro/VXR (fuel tank not in the boot) was built until about September/October 2004. The VZ Monaro/VXR (fuel tank in the boot) was built from that date onwards. They stopped building the VZ Monaro at the end of 2005. They stopped building the HSV GTO/VXR at the end of 2006.

Did any of those last runout HSV's make it over here or were they just for the Oz domestic market?

Thanks for the replies.
Checked the plate as decribed this morning. Build date was June 04 and registered late April 06, so the car had sat around for nearly two years without use.
Nice in every other respect but I think on balance I will pass.

Don`t be in too much of a rush, all the cars seem to have been on the back burner for some time unless they are 04/05 reg. Get a vehicle report done and insist that they underseal the underside as that hasn`t been done.
Vauxhall warranty starts from date of first reg and extends 3 years, so things like bearings etc are covered.
If the price differential isnt too great then I would rather take one thats been registered late (but therefore has 2-3 years of manufacturer warranty left on it) than take one thats been used for 3 years and carries no warranty.
Whats the price of the car, if its £16-£19k then its a bit of a bargain, given the late registration and warranty - compared to £14k for an early, highish mileage car without warranty??
Bennno
Dealer was asking £18,500 but the deal would have been around £17,250. It was the earlier model of course. There was an April 06 MY06 10k mile car sold by a dealer at £17k in the same area, that sounded like a good deal.
I think the price on the car I looked at was fair rather than being a bargain. Network Q as well.
