Black Monaro at LM, was it anyone here?
Discussion
We did see a black VXR in Houx, reg G2*** I think. It trundled past whilst we were queing for the 'facilities' so didn't get a chance to say hello.
Can't comment on their behaviour as we didn't see them again, however, there was plenty of other appalling behaviour down there, just proving that it is becoming more chav like every year. The yob elemement combined with the ACO and French plod's organisational skills means we are seriously considering going to the Le Mans Classic next year instead.
Didn't manage see any other Monaros or HSVs down there. The Indy/Arnage section of track was closed most of Saturday, so even that gathering was messed up.

I might have seen him as I was parking in the Bleu car park saturday morning. I was in my silver VXR and leaned out to say that his was the only other Monaro I'd spotted all weekend, he said ditto, seemed like a reasonable bloke but I can't say more than that.
I did see another '56-reg silver VXR at the Eurotunnel carpark but he was gone on an earlier crossing before I could say hello.
The 'ro got a fair bit of positive attention from people as I cruised around on Friday but I avoided Mulsanne and anywhere I might be demanded to do a burn-out. It's my P&J and I have too much mechanical sympathy for that.
I also got some unwanted attention from the gendarmes on N138 but luckily I had eased off so only got hit for €135...

"Houx was ok except for the tossers in the Black Monaro and the red 911, camped behind the cafe. Mates of mine left lastnight as they didn't fancy being run over in their tents, whilst sleeping.
It's a shame, but I was glad to see that the 911 was wrecked this morning, so they must have had a really great night."

what surprised me this year and I go most years, is that there were no speed cameras. Also parts of the track that are usually opened (arnage up to indianapolis corners) were closed. Not sure why!.
Problem is it moves people to different areas that can cause bigger problems. For me, the main area is the road outside the houx and houx-annexe campsites. Its only a matter of time before someone eggs a driver on, he gives it a go, gets it all wrong and takes a few people out!. Its a narrow road with no room for error!!
Aside from that, it was a good Le Mans as usual apart from the rain. I've done camping for many years but now we stay with a french family (long story...) in Le Mans and they treat us good for £40 a night.
Roll on next year with my VXR8, power pack goes on tomorrow and hopefully supercharger in a few months....
