We all know that the Blaupunkt isn't the best bit of kit on the 'ro. But can it redeem itself?
I've tried pressing all the buttons and been through the instruction manual many times. But i still don't know if the radio can pick up traffic updates.
The hours of being stuck in a traffic jam because it doesn't interupt my cd and tell me there is a 10 mile jam on the m4 just ahead is really starting to annoy me.

Anyone know if it has one or how to make it work?

Edited so that the right make is displayed.....duh!

No RDS on the std Blaupunkt (it's not a Kenwood in mine) head unit as it doesn't exist in Oz.

It's a Blaupunkt not a Kenwood - and no, it does not support RDS. They don't have such a thing in Oz so there is no need for the radio to support it....

Agreed, that's partly the reason mine got rippped out and replaced with a Kenwood Double Din. The unit already has RDS etc on it, but I also added a TMC module that updates the sat nav unit with real time current road works and hold up's via FM broadcast updates. Couldn't live without it now on long hauls up and down the M6...

I'm surprised Vx didn't think about changing the standard units for the UK market when they brought them over originally.

Yeah, good point that. They go through all the effort of fitting fog lights and changing the badges, but not that. Are there any other cars that don't have it? I know every car I've ever owned has had one.

I first experienced RDS in a hire car in England in 1993 but 14 years later it's still unheard of down here. The usual excuses will be made, lack of population, but the fact is that only a tiny % of this land is populated, and those areas are probably as dense and congested as most roads you drive on there...
