Sometimes (maybe 5 times in 12000 miles) my car jumps out of 1st Gear. I guess the answer may be that I have not fully selected the gear properly in the first place? It must have been selected to some extent as it makes quite a thump when it does this

Its a 56 plate VXR and I will report it next time its with a dealer.

Anyone else had this problem?

nope but I had my gearbox replaced this week under warranty. If you have any doubts get it checked out.

I had this a few times when I first got it, loud bang when it happens! I'm almost certain its due to 1st not being fully selected. Its not happened since now that I make sure 1st is fully home smile

I've had that a few times as well - a few times in the last week actually. I had assumed that I just hadn't engaged the gear properly so that when I pulled away it jumped out.....

So, I'll be interested in what you get back from your dealer when you speak to them.

same problem here but in reverse. in my case not properly selected. But I think something is a bit grumpy in the box making reverse difficult to select.

I have had the same problem. It feels like it goes in to 1st and then jumps out when you go to move off. Greens have had a look at it and adjusted the linkage. It is a lot better now but still did it a couple of times after I got it back. Now that I have done a few miles (7k) it seem to have stopped. If yours is low mileage it may get better with time.
