VXR500 are there any still available?
Discussion
Hi, new member here, very new to the present Monaro scene, but very keen to learn more, much more.
I am about to make a big decision on my next car, I have at present a 540iV8 BMW, a Nissan 300zx twin turbo and my super fun thrash car a Vectra GSI estate.
Firstly I might just say I am and have been since birth a car nut, I run a Japanese performance garage anyway and knew about the Monaro from Top Gear a few years back but only recently checked out the full spec and flipping hell it looks and sounds sexy!
I toyed with the idea of a Chrysler 300c 5.7 or 6.1 Hemi but when I sat in one it was a let down, and whilst looking for an alternative checked out the Monaro and came across the limited edition VXR500 ( Google) and I am totaly smitten, have fired an e-mail off to Greens so will see what come`s back from that, meanwhile any help with more info would be very much appreciated as this will be a big purchase to me and something I will need to convince the other half is a good idea.
Thanks in advance.

No new ones anymore.
If it is a Monaro you are after find a clean CV8 or VXR and get the supercharger fitted from one of the reliable dealers listed in the FAQ's. Quite a few of us have done the same (I have an 04 CV8 which has about 50-60BHP more than the VXR500) so there are options available.

shucks guess I missed them long ago eh?
A couple more qusetions if you do not mind.
1) Is the new Monaro a four door?
2) Would an earlier VXR be better than the new one for supercharging?
Thanks again

Point of order:
The new Monaro isn't a Monaro.
It's actually a Commodore.
But get a Monaro 'cos real men only need 2.
VXR8 is four door but not a Monaro.
Both the CV8 and VXR's can be supercharged easily, cost wise the CV8 right now looks quite cheap with one being sold on here for 14600 - add in a SC and Intercooler that would give aprox 453 BHP against a VXR costing the same overall cost with 400 BHP and a smaller boot.
All IMHO.
