A few times now, usually whilst under some acceleration (not WOT) the car has had what seemed like a wobble, like the rear end was going loose. The last time I put it down to cross winds. Is the car really susceptable to them or could it be something else?

I found cross winds HAVE affected this car more than most. Particularly on a section of M4 near Port Talbot, notorious for cross winds with high sided vehicles causing problems, but first ever "issues" with a car just a few days ago.

the back axle seemed loose

and we compared with an identical car and found travel with the back axle

it went back again and was fixed

it also steps out when not accelerating and a vauxhall sailman was driving once and it happened to him

i hav e had majour probs with this and the wife now prefers to drive a diesel van than the monaro

yorkie not yet but there is no point as I am getting the handling response kit so I figure why pay or it twice - its not happend that much

with regards to the loose rear axle that was the thing that got me thinking,I saw the threads on it. It doesnt actually do it just under accelleration or speed either.

What was teh fix for the loose axle in the end? How was it diagnosed?

they did 4 alignments

then found the rear axle movement

after a long battle ie over 6 months they brought out another vehicle

i pushed mine it rocked forwards and backwards and theirs didn't

on the way home from the alignment the steering would change again so the alignment lasted less than 50 miles

cheers

when you say you pushed yours and it rocked, can you (I know this sounds silly,) go into detail of what you did - the effort required and the visible evidence?

Thing is, I'm going to take it to get the handling pack so I am more than certain that if needs be the lads there can inform me and sort out any issues
