Had an aboslutely great day, still waiting for the official times but suffice it to say I didn`t let the side down.

These cars are really really quick.

You sure about that? Mine feels so slow I keep on having to check if the hand brake is still on laugh

Looking forward to seeing the figures.

What ball park are we talking? They had a live readout when I did it.

I'd expect in the region of 170mph maybe?

Very nice Jez, although how did you let the Ruf beat you by 30mph?

That Ruf must be a sight to see

Just one thing jez, did you chuck all the kit out of the car, i.e, the spare wheel, tools, wifes hand bag, kitchen sink, car park money, and did you turn the door mirrors in? if not ???????

Left it all in. Even having a passenger made no difference. Was VMAXing way before the timers.
Developed a technique of holding back then pinning it to VMAX at the timers.
6th gear was about as much use as a chocolate teapot. I think even a 12psi car would have trouble pulling 6th with a 3.46 diff.
Wouldn`t change a thing though as I averaged 26.8 for the drive up and back which was as impressive as the top speed.
Car was a little `wooly` at high speed but never felt dangerous, even after getting hit by the crosswinds. Will deffo be getting Avo`s though and this should help.
Brakes were fine, but used the run out area mostly, this saved them quite a lot. Also wendy`d back to the line to cool everything down, saw so many near `moments as guy`s got it wrong misjudging their speed. (100 seemed like about 30)

Jez if you do go for a different suspension set up, just stop and do your home work first, it is all in the set up, who ever fits it just make sure that they can "corner wheight" it. Garages that say that is a load of old boocks don't know what they are talking about!!!!

I hate to say this, but I don't rate AVO's that car in my profile was fitted with them and they had to be rebuilt every 2,000 miles "crap" It is like what they say "you get what you pay for".

P.S. still think that you should have thrown the passenger out and the spare (wheel that is) laugh

Well done smile

I never fail to be impressed by the porkers though. The 172mph with only 355bhp is impressive.

PS. I just noticed harryoz's speed in the vanquish. A twin turbo 'ro and an vanquish. You jammy git wink

Yep, current VMAX is zero right about now...before that I had the chance for a run on the autobahns, max was 154mph, every time. Wasnt worth changing into 6th, it went backwards...hoping to improve, and that enough power will make 6th useable for top speed running
