Monaro / Std Commodore boot panel
Discussion
Does anybody know where there is a Monaro breaking for spares. I'd like to Swap my HSV rear for the Monaro setup. Have mint genuine lights already but need the boot panel. Prefer UK source as have already been bitten by some thieving pr*!k on Aus Ebay (stay away from seller Depth69 if you look for odds and ends down there)
I have contacted the German guy that's advertising his GTO on PH but his is damaged beyond repair.

I hate that...it has happened to me too on there with somebody from Oz. I know who they are on my normal Aussie home. Karma will get them!
Call me pedantic....Is the Monaro bootlid as wide as the Sedan bootlid? mmm.....I don't really know.
If it isn't as wide and you are after the plain back, you will need one from a VX sedan Executive, Acclaim, S-pac or SS.

Seriously though, as far as I know the panels are the same. Or so the adverts say on t'internet.
I think the HSV garnish really ages the car (I know they're starting to get on a bit but...). Keeping all the old gear though as I'm sure not all will like the change.
The VX lights are nice too but I found a set of genuine Monaro lights on ebay for £50 so less hassle there. Just need to figure out what to do about fogs as mine is a converted reverse light on the GTS and I'd rather something better.
Will maybe do headlights at a later stage. Do you find the dipped beam a bit poor on the SS with "normal" lights? High beam is great.

Might be worth a phone call woody. Glad you're pleased with the lights
Jeff.

Slow response! Yes the high beams are very good, the low beams not so good.
You can fit the Monaro headlights to the VT, the 2004 version would be the one you need as the bonnet scooped one has slightly larger lights. It does need a slight moving of the battery I believe, only a few cms or something like that. It also needs a small wiring mod to a plug on the light stalk on the steering column.
