Are you getting the electric exhaust pac or just the standard loud or quiet option?

Does the Road Response Pack make that much of a difference to the feel and handling of the car, say on a VXR?

Also does the Ripshifter actually shorten the throw on changing gears or does it just strengthen the change?

These are both mods that I am contemplating when I get my Ro in August.

Cheers

Just had it done, so I can help here:

Loud pipes aren't so loud you'll need the electric pack - not without headers anyway. I'll be getting the switch when the headers are fitted a bit later on. Since my neighbourhood is small and generally quiet I was a bit concerned about waking the neighbours - but it's quieter than my old Calibra Turbo so I'd say save the £700.

The ripshifter shortens and tightens the gear-change considerably. I'd make it one of the first mods without a doubt.

I cannot recommend the Road Response Pac enough either - makes the handling sharper, with less wobble and makes the whole car feel smaller on the road. I guess it's no VXR8, but it's a close as I can get without replacing the suspension (which I don't want to do).

I have the same spec on my 6.0 VXR and agree with all of the above

Mines in at Monkfish on Wednesday for a couple of days for the Road Response Pac, headers, AP's and the electric exhaust thingy. Going from Sports Pac to Performance Pac.

Roger, will your courstesy car be ok for the trip back to Wales Wenesday/Thursday? I've got an important meeting on Thursday. I promise not to thrash it on our local lanes.... (Yes, I know it's not your demonstrator..)

I'm sure I shall take you up on that offer, thanks a lot!

You will be seeing me soon as when I do get my VXR next month I will be headed your way to get a Wortec cat-back fitted almost immediately

By the sounds of it the Ripshifter and Road Response Pack also seem to be a must have on the Monaro.

The problem is with you guys is that I will come down once, see all of the kit and then just want it all and end up spending a small fortune! I do it every single time with every car that I have had, its a disease !!

DevilYellowCV8... are you in Wales then? If so, where? I'm just North of Cardiff, and I know of a 6.0VXR owner from Swansea area.

I think I'll just be going for the loud pipe cat-back system if its not too loud when you don't want it to be and then when you press the loud pedal it really is loud, sounds ideal.

Sadly I'm bit of a billy no-mates up in the darkest North in the Llandudno area (the other two local known 'ro forum members are only part time here).

Hey Gas_Man

We are getting positively common biggrin

I'm a VXR owner just outside Cwmbran

Standard at the moment but threads like this are doing nothing for my self restraint hehe

Out of interest how long does that work take?

Want the exact same mods (though will probably do it piecemeal) so would be interested in hearing how you get on with the changes post 1st Aug

Don't know how long each one takes, but combined they will be done within a day - and I'm also having a 10,000 mile service at the same time.

Didn't ask specifically, but I hope I get a nice runaround for the day.....

Take your cars to the big fish! tongue out

Anyway, the Monaro should have had these things from the factory. The only downside is I can't find anywhere to use noise!
