test drove a vxr8 - WOW
Discussion
i test drove an r8 the other day, and i must say it was way better than i expected, plus it had the walkinshaw sports pack and sports springs lowered on the 20's and in black it just looked amazing, on my test drive they let me boot real hard, so i did! It has no problems climbing to a hundred and beyond, a different driving experiance to my current car, a galant vr4, i was considering a monaro after diffeculty finding an older gts but I think for a few extra pennys i will be getting one but not sure what the insurance will be like for a 28 year old, il be getting in touch with them to see what they want, if any one is thinking about buying one of these just do it is a driving pleasure
I've had mine a month now and its all good. Need to test one with S/C.
A few negatives/annoyances (like any car I suppose no matter what they cost)...
1. Rear view mirror has gone back to the basic one. Would have thought they'd retained the auto-dimming one like I had in my VXR6.0
2. Cup holders are in a bad position. Does compromise your arm position for gear changes
3. Integrated bluetooth kit is great but people do say I sound tinnie. I dont think car kits in general beat the conventional wired ear piece. Aside from that good sound out the speaker system and its convenient as my blackberry connects to it straight away!
4. Brake pads seem to release alot of dust so I'm forever keeping the wheels clean. Any options out there Mr Wortec for pads?. What are the ones I have?
5. Within the trip computer, there are customised options but they dont seem to work?. Maybe its part of features we dont have in the UK?
The front aux port works well so I can connect my ipod straight in!.
Like the sunglass holder by the front reading lights. Very american but cool.
Nothing big really.....can live with it all!.

The customised options only are available when not moving. Also to access them you need to press enter.
Ps. Enter is pressing in the left rolling button (like a scroll mouse button!) on the steering wheel.
