Thanks to all who replied re- water ingress into rear foot wells. On a different issue if a boring one, I was a bit concerned to see the lack of boot space on 05 monaros,is it possible to get roof bars to fit without causing any dammage? Yes it might look a bit naff, but I would only need them once or twice a year.
One more concern is rust proofing on Monaros, even the new vxr8, surely Australians have no knowledge of this issue? How long before the tin worm shows up?.....
Plese stay with me one last question, is it possible to lower the front seats boyond their standard range of movement to increase head room?

Looked into the roof bar problem myself and the answer is yes and no.
No one does a metal/traditional roof rack, but a company who used to advertise in the back of Top Gear mag does a temporary strap on (sorry about that) one, like bike rack fittings to boot/ bonnet edges (£30/£35).
No rust problems in 2.5 years, Monkfish have a solution if woried - search on threads on here for answer
No idea about headroom question , being 6'2" never had a problem

Thanks again, I will check out strap on first! All these questions, I still need to get the car first!!!
From what I gather Greens seem to be the only ones that know there stuff, I hope to check them out soon. Other dealers seem to be a bit lost on the technical side of Monaros, HELL of a long trip though!!!!

To be honest, i don't know whey we bother rust proofing back home. Considering the conditions here, would have thought EVERY car would be rust proofed here..

I think that was the problem... they didnt, and it wasnt considered when they hit the shores here.
