What is the right price to pay for a 06 cv8 6000 miles, all seem around £22000, seems a bit high. vxr 6ltr arond £25000, 3000 to 9ooo miles, where are all the bargins?
If our offer on a barn conversion gets accepted then would let my 2007 6L VXR go for around £23k (Registered Feb, now 5k miles, Net Q + 32 months factory). The VXR and CV8 are very different cars. If you disregard the more powerful LS2 engine, you still need to factor in the enhanced suspension, breaks, larger wheels, aerokit etc. Its like comparing a v8 540i BM to a v8 M5.

All Vauxhall CV8s are 5.7's there were some chsnges from MY04 - MY05 (VY - VZ Holden series)which included better suspension and brakes (I think - but still crap), smaller boot, dual exhaust, extra dials, piano black dash surround, nostrilled bonnet, different front bar with driving and fog lamps, different style but still 18 inch wheels, more power out of the box due to bigger MAF and a couple of other bits (Iam sure the more technical types will add/correct as necessary.

Erm.... with a list price of 36k seems to me a car with only 6k on it for 25k is quite a bargain.
Lets not forget that a lot of people paid the top price so the stock at lower prices will be from;
A Those who bought at a discounted rate and can afford a small hit.
B Those who have to sell even though they are going to take one where the sun don`t shine.
The real bargains will be next year after the boredom boys have had enough of their low price motor.

I simply do not buy the "crap" suspension on cv8s. I certainly find it to me more than adequate, very good in fact.Smoth nice ride, comfy but stiff enough.stigmundfreud said:

Gotta say was with you about the suspension and the brakes too, untill I explored the potential of the car.
CV8 or VXR the suspension or brakes simply can`t cash the cheque the engine writes.
the cv8 brakes are poor compared to the bigger brakes but never had a worry
when pushing on now I have no problem with the suspension but I do want the road response pack to stiffen things on the steering front a bit. The vxr brakes I have are a great improvement over standard brakes - I got them because I did feel it a worthy upgrade but for 99% of my driving see no need to even look at the suspenders

Stigmund: After a day round Bedford on the standard suspension which felt like piloting a barge on times with big time diving under braking took on a spare set of 6.0VXR suspension and the difference was amazing - still had nice compliant cruise but much flatter round bends and no brake diving (as I did nearly 70k miles in mine ride comfort was important and the handling was compromising my use of the available power
had a set of HSV premium brakes with EBC Red stuff not APs and they stood up well.
I was running about 450FWHP/365 rwhp at the time.

I never thought I`d ever need either better suspension or brakes but one high speed run and I was converted.
I agree for day to day driving either are perfectly adequate.
At the Vmax day I was sooo careful with the brakes, but braking from 170+ all they did was make a noise as they blued. Ditto with the suspension, it took me three run`s just to get comfortable driving over 150 due to the instability inherent at that speed with the standard setup. (Gets real interesting in crosswinds at 170+)
To anyone contemplating a Track Day or other such event, regardless of how easy you take it the standard kit just wont cut it.
But I`ll say again as I`m sure I`ll get flamed NORMAL USE=STD KIT IS FINE.
