I'm going to go for a Magnacharger + IC. Mark at RapidGB says he can do 6psi or 9psi under warranty (12 psi & I'm on my own!). 9psi is an extra £500 but I want to maintain 100% reliability, I'd be interested to learn what others are running and whether 9psi is the way to go or if 6psi is plenty?

Throw a clutch in for the 9psi option.

(Not necessarily at the same time but allow for yours not taking the extra torque).

Out of interest can I ask how much?

Would also wonder why 9psi costs £500 more than 6psi, surely it is the same work?

Base kit is probably 6psi and you need to buy the extra 9psi pulley and do the assembly/disassembly to fit it.

Spot on. £5k kit includes intercooler and around 520 FW bhp on my CV8, question is should I pay the extra or will I run into problems?

£500 extra seems reasonable. Much higher and you can budget for an uprated fuel pump and injectors, too.

500 for a slightly smaller pulley sounds like a lot of money to me when all the parts are still on the shelf.

Having said that the original price is very very keen.

I presume it's because they need to do a custom map for it?

Aren't all maps from RapidGB custom?

Mark fitted the magnacharger in my 54 VXR last month. Running at 7psi for now but going back for the 9psi pulley next week. 580 horses, here I come! Running very nicely so far. He also installed an uprated clutch while he was at it.

Sorry, I didn`t ask Mark about the clutch details. Would have meant nothing to me! The clutch is actually lighter to use than the standard one. The old clutch did some odd things when I gave it the non-supercharged beans, but now with the magnacharger at full chat the new clutch has no issues whatsoever.
