My mother in law's beloved Tigra went for a service and MOT today. Car was perfect before it went it. When she picked it up she was told that the speedo did not work and that she would have to come back the following day for that to be fixed, even though it passed the MOT.

On the way home (with my daughter inside) the car started cutting out, engine management warning light was onthe whole time.

Back at the Vauxhall dealership she is told that this is linked to the speedo and, while it is not there fault they will replace the speedo cable at cost for the part £50 rather than the part and labour £250.

Am a little suspicious - just after some views from people in the know as to whether this is right?

Me I think it;s shocking and they should pay for all of it but am interested in the view from the other half so to speak
