VXR Rear Spolier - Damages the boot
Discussion
I know I'm not the only one suffering this as I studied another VXR yesterday. It marks the paint quite badly, especially where the central rib meets the boot (looking at it from the rear).
It seems fairly well attached and doesn't move about much. I presume it's the wind pushing it down when on the move.
Anybody found a fix?

I posted one ages ago so can`t find it now.
Basically take the fabric panel off using a fork with a prong removed to get behind the plastic discs, use a 10mm socket on the spoiler and take it right off. (dont forget to disconnect the brakelight cable)
Then use kitchen door rubber stoppers, the ones like small losenges and stick them in the hollow part of the centre strut (it has a raised lip running round its edge which is what does the rubbung damage )so it sits slightly off the boot lid.
Then reasemble.
Took me half an hour.
DONT FORGET TO RECONNECT THE BRAKELIGHT (if you dont, that takes about half an hour too

Heres the original thread with some pic's of my 'fix' using the black decal stuff that's used on door pillars and the like
