Rev Limit Beeper

My dashboard beeper no longer sounds-off at max revs. Anyone had this and what is the fix?

never noticed I had one, the fix though is not to hit the limiter

That's the reason for the beeper. Signals you to change up to save bouncing off the limiter.
Ideal for the drag strip and circuit. (Done both )

Only beeper I've heard is the overspeed one that is set at 70mph just to remind me about pc plod!

I heard the beeper when flooring my VXR8 last night, never heard on on the '04 ro I had before.

Will I hit top speed in 5th with the VXR8 like the Monaro?

The beeper wasnt on the 04 cars, but is on my 05 Monaro

in which case its under warranty so ask a dealer to fix it

Top speed is achieved in 5th, 6th is still more of an overdrive ratio.

But remember there is a 155 limiter!!

You can reprogram the dash to do all sorts of stuff like beep and change colour and even show a shift light. I'm sure someone on here has had it done but I can't find the link.

Without looking in the manual to confirm I am under the impression that you can do certain programming things yourself, the rev bleeper should sound off at 4,000 on a cold engine and 6ish? on a hot engine. (well that is what mine does)

Its temperature and gear dependant, push it to hard in a low gear when its not warmed up it will let you know

Just had a look through the book of words and on page 33 it tells you how to reset back to factory defaults for the on board computer, this may or may not reboot/reset everything though, but worth a try. So flip the pages in your manual and give it a go, nothing ventured and all that:

possible some tunes remove this feature if say perhaps your car is reflashed with the OS from a 1999 corvette?!?

No, not that. Wortec Sportpac installed over a year ago at Greens. Beeped after that......!!

Have you tried following the instructions for accessing the options when you first turn on the ignition? I'm not certain, but there may be an option to turn the beeper on/off or just try a reset to default. It worked for me when i first got mine when the green light and clock illumination would not switch off after locking up, even thou there was no option for it.
