15000 mile service???

Had my VXR serviced about 3-4 weeks ago, when the dash was calling for a 10000 miles service (car aged about 9 months, showing c. 7k miles).
Done probably less than 1000 miles since (been away on holiday) but tonight the dash indicator is telling me it needs a 15000 mile sevice.
Ayone know what's going on? Oil was checked last night prior to a 300 mile journey this morning (all fine, doesn't appear to have used any since the 10000 mile service). Someone tell me these things don't need servicing once a month!! (otherwise it will be appearing on a for sale board pdq
).

).I had a similar thing happen to my VXR when i bought it,the dealer serviced it at 8k as part of the deal but didnt reset the service indicator
shortly after the indicator started to show on the dash so i reset it using the instructions found in the FAQ page then within a day or so the 15k started to flash even though i had only done around 50 miles ,I reset it again and it has been fine since
may be something to do with convertion of Km to miles
