Big thankyou to Greens for sorting out my new car today, very impressed so far although I did only average 33mph all the way home!! bloody M25!

Saw another VXR there to - BO55VRX... Would have been nice to have meet someone else from this board and who owns a similar car but the owner was not about.

Anyone had a full poly bush kit fitted though as think this would be a good idea...?

And "Brian" is the diff standard? (and Im not doing the ring now till Ive got used to it and done a few other things so no worries about oil surge etc)

Im off to polish under the bonnet now.

Enjoy!

Your car will have real supercar performance.

Having looked at the latest EVO I never realised how good it would be to beat the Cerb!! (some beat me but as I beat so many.......).

Hey Roger, that's mine.... It was in for a few warranty bits & pieces and an oil service. Left it there for the w/end because some of the work was gonna take some time.

I heard a tale today from someone who runs a vehicle-related business a short walk away from Green's........apparently a 600bhp-plus Monaro travelling south on the A228 failed to make the roundabout outside Green's at some point in the not-too-distant past and ended up in the transport yard next door.........

Not sure when this was (assuming it's true) but allegedly the mechanic carrying out the road test was in his first and only week's employment with Greens.... yikes

can catagorically say, not true. There was a 'customer' incident a bit closer to the M20, that involved many degrees of revolution, but no others.

Many years ago a friend of my Dad had a limited edition/rally replica Lancia Delta Integrale which he trusted to his local dealer for a service. On the "road test" the mechanic wrote it off

Is it possible to fit a "valet mode" restrictors to our cars so this cannot happen? In the mean time I will only get mine looked at by Roger at Monkfish.

When mine gets serviced (or when I book it in to fix the nearside exhaust valve - (the little servo motor is lose brian) it wont be going for any road tests! unless Im sat next to them.

On another note - stuck a 275/30/zr19 tire under the rear arch and I recon with the correct offset it will fit.....just! on a 9.5" or maybe 10" rim. Gota work that bit out yet from the measurements I took. Have to say that the rear looks alot better with a fatter tire on it!

By the way - does the standard traction control actually do anything! LOL!!!biggrin

Nope. Std diff, played with a 3.9 for a while, but, with the current output it was more and more of an issue putting the power down. Just the right mix of redline and fric modifier.

Yep. I think a few guys have had this done. Basically you can use a hidden switch to earth a spare pin in the ECM and it will set a max rpm and road speed. AFAIK though its an efilive specific tune feature. Just flip it on or off as required.. Definitely works as coming back from holiday I went for a thrash up the road, well more like a stagger at 5kmph smile as I forgot to turn if off!
