Got mine from Graham at Picador in Southampton, like you, have no done about 1300 miles in the old grunter, this is just so well refined over the Monaro which I had befor, the room inside is vast, the steering is almost spot on, clutch is lighter, power is great and wants to run free, brakes are just about the best I have used, no fade, the whole car has lost the timidness of the Monaro when rushing around in the lanes etc.

However there are a few probs;

1. The wheels are a sod to keep clean, takes ages.
2. No memory on the front seats.
3. No auto dim/dip on rear view mirror.
4. Old problem like Monaro, overtaking mirror poor.
5. Fuel consumption not good around town, Monaro was better.
6.Small problem with left A/C control.

But who cares as I just love it, Wortec electric switch exhaust is great, cold air intake and power upgrade is just magic, need to drive one with S/Charger to see if it's worth spending all that dosh.

In my mind it's about as good as it can get, but lets see whats around the corner, would like to try one with auto and all the power upgrades, could be tempted.

Andy, I do agree with all your comments. The wheels are not too bad. I've cleaned wheels which are alot worse to clean. All i'd say on that is the excessive brake dust therefore you are cleaning them more often.

Also, I know its a bit pathetic but I think the front cup holders are a bad design. If you have drinks in them it impedes your gear change.

No question, its a great car!!. I wanna test the S/C with 20" wheels and lowered springs.

Wortec can do the 7.0 LS7 conversion too!!. christ

Andy if you don't stop bigging up the VXR8 we are going to be as common as Mondeos. Keep it under your hat.

Seriously i have the Auto and find it fantastic came from an AMG so have got used to it (a bit lazy but you get used to that for the advantages). I don't find the alloys that bad as previously said i have had much worse. Apart from that no bad points found so far, i find the Wortec sport pack very easy to live with the exhaust noise worth the money on its own.

One major point i have which maybe some other owners who have had the lowering springs and 20" alloys fitted can double check for me. I wanted to jack up the front end today and could not use the vehicle jack due to the lack of clearance (the sideskirt would be crushed if you persisted) If this is the case for others then this seems to be a bit of an oversight.

Lifes VERY good apart from that.

Brian at greens has 20" with lowered suspension. He may give it a go....
I am interested in this setup too. I believe the ride quality is the same as 19" with standard suspension.

Aside from the little nigglies all is good!! The VXR8 rocks.

S/C next.... cool

Cheers, Mike
