I took the plunge a couple of days ago amd bought a black cv8 facelift model, 56 reg. The car is standard with 6000 miles on the clock. I paid £19500.00 for it and have to say the car in my eyes is a classic old school muscle car and is what I have wanted for a number of years.
Although i have driven it only on short runs while getting used to it I have noticed the following points and would appreciate any comments.
reverse gear is difficult to select, warn or cold. It seems better if you put it in fourth then a slow shove into reverse.
The rear panels behind the front seats seem to creak. I dont think its coming from inside the seat.
I tried a bit of firm braking from about 80mph and there seemed to be a judder through the steering. On checking the discs all seemed well, not even any wear around the outer edge no bluing cracks ect.
I wish the supling dealer had not drilled the front bumper to fix on the No plate though..
I have to say love the way the car rocks on its springs at traffic lights ect.. pure muscle.

All usual issues. Brakes can be a nightmare to stop shudder but usually you can sort it out mostly.

Talk to one of the usual suspects, Roger, Greens etc they might have some idea's

I had the exact same symptoms with my 06 CV8 and the gearbox does not get better in this case. Discs and gearbox were replaced under Network Q warranty, take to a Monaro dealer pronto as the gearbox is £7 grand if you need to pay for it yourself.

My gearbox also whined badly in all forward gears to the point I couldn't hear the engine. I don't know where you are but I can recommend Motorbodies in Luton.
