I had all four wheels off my cv8 the other day and found lots of corrosion on he inner part of the rim, I will have to have them repainted after the winter.I assume this is not covered by the warranty. I took the opportunity to check the underside of the car and although still clean I found light corrosion on the suspension components. The rust proofing was well... missing!!!! on the rest of the car.!!!
Has anybody had their car rustprooft? How much to do a top job? I can't seem to find any companies in the Norh East. I did see a company in the London area, I think it was called Rust Buster.. anyone used it?
One thing that does concern me is the amount of drive train noise,it seems to be a bit of clunking and slack when travelling in the lower gears, is this normal?

Hi Mate,

Sorry, wheels are totally normal - I refurbed the whole of the insides myself after about 6 months. Basically they don't bother painting the rear 33%-40% of the wheel, very poor but the same with all the Monaros even the VXRs (ones I have seen anyway).

I am currently painting two spare wheels I bought and will be doing the faces of the wheels also, as I am sure you have noticed Holden do not laquor the CV8 wheels.

Clunks, probably normal depending how noisy but you may want to get the diff oil changed sometime.

Cheers
Steven
