Due to the indicators sticking on solid every time the car was locked in hot weather, Belmont Vauxhall changed the hazard relay and the body control module (full marks to them, they did well )

Since the new BCM has been fitted the car has been displaying the 'service engine oil' message on engine start up and shut down. The car was only serviced a few weeks ago (when the BCM problem was being diagnosed). Is there anyway to reset to the service indicator? The oil is still pretty clean, so I'm guessing the service indicator is based on time, rather than intelligence.

Any help on this greatly appreciated, I don't really want to traipse but to the dealer for a simple fix.

Cheers

Andy

*edit* It's a 2005 Monaro VXR LS2.

Its in the FAQS - few posts down on how to reset the service indicator - could try that. Funky all the cool stuff you can get access to in the computer by starting up holding down different key combos - I've got my lights staying on longer on engine switch off so I can see where I'm going at night. Had the horn go on open/close as well but that got a bit tedious.

Evening Rob,

Had a problem with the indicators sticking on, but apart from that, all seems well (for now!).

How's the Disco?

On an Audi, the logs on the ECU distinquish between a "customer reset" and a dealer reset for the service intervals. Might be worth checking if this applies to the GM ecu. (ringham?)
