Just bought a new Monaro VXR 2 weeks ago, drove it first time in rain today and found the wipers have no intermittent setting. It has 'INT' on the stalk, but there is no sleeve on it like the picture in the manual (page 16). Furthermore it has 3 detent clicks down, you would think.... INT, SLOW, FAST, but mine is just ... SLOW, SLOW (no change), FAST.

Am I being dim here, or is this a mistake by the manufacturer?

Mine has a collar around the wiper, which you change the frequency for the intermitant. Does your's have that?

No, no collar, or sleeve (as I called it). There is a picture of the sleeve in the manual, so I know what you mean, but mine is just a single moulding with the markings,

0
INT
1
2

printed on it. So you can click it down 3 times, or pull it back for washer spray. But INT and 1 are the same thing.

When its in the intermittent position(1 down from off) you should be able to rotate the stork. Clockwise looking at the end for a long delay while anticlockwise for no delay (same as position 1)

You will also find it is speed variable. So the faster you go the shorter the delay.

Hey just thought that might be the problem. All you need to do is slow down a bit

very new car - registered June 2007. Just went out to the car again to try rotating the stalk once it is one click down - but it is definately fixed, and will not rotate.

I wonder if you've got 2004 GTO stalks fitted somehow?

I am not sure how to get my picture up on the forum (above), hence the 3 goes at doing it. Sorry about that. But I can see mine do not have the rotating collar, so I think I will ask Vauxhall about this.

1. Please tell me how to put pictures up on here - I used but i just get a space where the picture should be. I can see if you click the space, you get to my URL though.
2. Anyway, as you can see from my picture taken this morning, it appears to be the wrong stalk. Bit strange really.

If you click on the dead pic link you posted it brings up the image...yours is definitely not the way the rest are, where you have the rotary barrel with 0 INT 1 2 we have the timing for the intermittent wipe, which is the first notch down on the 3 point stalk movement...

Doesn't matter when it was first registered, what model year is it? (ie built 04 or 05?)
