VXR Monaros are very good value at the moment as dealers run their stocks out while the VXR8 is still new and expensive by comparison. In my view the Monaro is a much prettier and unusual looking car but I guess it comes down to cash and personal choice. Don't buy a new Monaro if you need a boot as it's full of fuel tank.

ok whats the expected price?
Well I'm hoping it weighs in for under £30k for base models and who knows how much for any performance oriented versions. Does anyone know if there is a V6 version planned as that is likely to find more favour here in Europe than a V8 as a base model. It would be great if they were to try and recapture some of the 60's feel with different option packages something like an SS 427, stroker kits, or best of all would be a Yenko variant.
Vauxhall imported 2 model years of Monaro CV8/VXR Monaro. 2004 MY cars are both 5.7L with larger boot, the 2005 MY cars - CV8 (5.7L) and VXR (6.0L) both have reduced boot size because the fuel tank was relocated (due to the cars being made for sale in US, which accounted for about 85% of all manufactured). There were no '06 or '07 models as Holden ceased making them in '05.
The VXR8, on the other hand is not made to satify the septics, so the fuel tank is where it should be, hence the boot being big enough to house a family of refugees.
